Arsenal in fierce battle to sign Hoffenheim’s Toure

Arsenal are reportedly in a fierce battle to sign Hoffenheim forward Bazoumana Toure, as per TEAMtalk.

After moving to PreZero Arena from Swedish side Hammarby in last year’s winter window, he played as a rotational option last term, making three assists in only seven starts.

However, he has displayed promising performances this season, scoring five goals and registering nine assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances.

It appears the 20-year-old’s recent eye-catching performances haven’t gone unnoticed, as he has begun attracting significant attention ahead of the summer window.

TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal have registered their interest in signing him and could make a concrete approach over the coming weeks. Hoffenheim might be forced to sell Toure this summer after failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

However, with the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029, they are in a strong position to demand a big fee. Joelinton’s move to Newcastle for around £39m is currently the German side’s record transfer, and they want a similar fee to let Toure leave.

The report state that Arsenal will have to overcome fierce competition to finalise the operation as Manchester United and Liverpool are all keen to secure his service.

Moreover, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are showing ‘concrete interest’ in him, with the player increasingly likely to move to the Premier League.

Toure to Arsenal

The 20-year-old is a left-footed left-winger by trait but is also efficient on the opposite side. He is extremely quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is also efficient in delivering excellent crosses from the flanks.

Although Arsenal have won the Premier League title this season and have reached the Champions League final, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have displayed inconsistent performances.

So, it has been suggested that Mikel Arteta is keen on upgrading the left flank. Arsenal have been linked with a few names, with Toure emerging as a new serious option.

The youngster is a talented player and possesses high potential. So, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his service by defeating other clubs in this race.
