Arsenal are preparing to submit a formal offer to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola in the summer, according to Fichajes.

Following his arrival from Lyon in 2023, Barcola has progressed rapidly, making an instant impression during his first full campaign by recording 14 direct goal contributions across all tournaments.

His productivity climbed even further in the following season, which became the most prolific of his career, as he accumulated 42 goal involvements in 64 appearances as the Parisians went on to secure the domestic treble alongside the UEFA Champions League title.

That consistency has carried into the current campaign, earning the attacker a place in Didier Deschamps’ 26-man France national football team squad for this summer’s FIFA World Cup after already producing 20 goal contributions this season.

Despite those outstanding numbers, establishing himself as an undisputed starter under Luis Enrique has remained challenging, with the Spaniard frequently preferring an attacking trio made up of Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

With his contract talks reportedly also stalling, several clubs are now showing interest in the winger as the summer transfer window approaches.

One of the clubs looking to sign Barcola is Arsenal, according to Fichajes, which claims that the Gunners are plotting an audacious swoop to recruit the winger in the summer.

Mikel Arteta has identified the 23-year-old as the ‘ideal candidate’ to reinforce his attack, and the Gunners are now looking to take advantage of his contractual situation at the Parc des Princes by launching a swoop, the report adds.

‘Perfect fit’

Arsenal are now stepping up efforts to complete the transfer as the Spanish outlet adds that the Premier League leaders are preparing to submit a formal £69m offer to sign the Frenchman, having earmarked him as a ‘perfect fit’ for Arteta’s fast-paced transitional style of play.

With Liverpool also showing interest, the north Londoners are optimistic their offer would be enough to convince PSG to sanction Barcola’s departure, according to the report.

Although Arsenal possesses left-sided attackers capable of providing creativity and creating opportunities, none of their existing options can truly rival Barcola when it comes to consistent goal production.

The French winger is also an explosive and direct attacker who thrives in one-versus-one situations, possesses the ability to finish with either foot, and contributes relentlessly without possession.

His capacity to carry the same attacking threat from both flanks further strengthens his appeal for Arteta, and Arsenal will hope their £69m offer will be enough to seal his move to the Emirates.
