Confirmed line-ups: Manchester City vs Arsenal – Havertz and Odegaard start for Gunners

By on April 19, 2026

Arsenal can take a huge step towards winning the Premier League title with a win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

We head into the game off the back of a hugely disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth last time out in the league. However, we still hold a six point lead over City having played a game more than our rivals, so victory today would put us in the driving seat to win the title.

Unfortunately, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber have failed to prove their fitness and miss the game. Piero Hincapie keeps his place at left-back while Cristhian Mosquera also retains his place on the right with Ben White remaining on the bench.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes continue their partnership in the middle of Arsenal’s defence while Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice both start in the middle of the park.

Arsenal are boosted by the return of Martin Odegaard and he’s fit to start in the attacking midfield role. Eberechi Eze also starts on the left wing with Gabriel Martinelli dropping out to the bench where he joins Leandro Trossard.

Kai Havertz leads the line up front for us this afternoon so Viktor Gyokeres drops to the bench. Gabriel Jesus remains among the substitutes as does Max Dowman.

Bukayo Saka remains out with an Achilles issue but Noni Madueke is fit to start on the right wing after recovering from a knock.

For City, Erling Haaland is the obvious danger-man in attack and he’s supported by Antoine Semenyo and Jeremy Doku.

These are the confirmed teams:
