Arsenal are set to welcome AFC Bournemouth to the Emirates Stadium in a crucial Premier League fixture today at lunchtime.

The Gunners are currently at the top of the table with 70 points from 31 matches, while Manchester City are second with nine points behind, having played one game less.

The Citizens will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, so victory against the Cherries could extend Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table.

On the other hand, Andoni Iraola’s side are currently in mid-table with 42 points from 31 matches. They have been unbeaten in the Premier League since losing to Arsenal in January. However, Bournemouth have won only one of the last seven matches.

Team news

Mikel Merino remains sidelined due to his injury. Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka, Piero Hincapié, and Jurrien Timber were unavailable against Sporting CP in midweek; thankfully, Eze is ready to be involved today.

However, Saka, Hincapié, and Timber are in doubt for this game. Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard sustained knocks in midweek, and there are question marks over their availability.

Predicted line-up

David Raya is set to continue in goal following a Man of the Match performance against the Lions in the Champions League. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are expected to be the centre-back pairing for Arsenal.

Ben White should be in the right-back position, and Riccardo Calafiori might keep hold of his place on the opposite side. In that case, Cristhian Mosquera would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi are likely to be the midfield partnership, while Kai Havertz is expected to be the creative midfielder. So, Eze may feature off the bench if needed.

Noni Madueke should be the right winger, and Gabriel Martinelli could be on the left. So, Saka and Trossard might be among the substitutes if they are fit enough to be involved.

Viktor Gyokeres is set to keep hold of his place in the centre-forward position for the North London club. Therefore, Gabriel Jesus would have to make do with a place on the bench.
