Confirmed line-ups: Brentford vs Arsenal – Saliba ruled out, Trossard starts
Arsenal are under pressure to respond and restore our lead at the top of the Premier League table with a win at Brentford tonight.
Having opened up a nine-point lead just last week, Manchester City have now closed the gap to just three points following back-to-back wins over Liverpool and Fulham. Arsenal hold a game in hand so we can move six points clear with victory at the Gtech Stadium.
Injuries are starting to pile up as Kai Havertz has been ruled out for a few weeks with a muscle injury while William Saliba missed out tonight due to illness. However, there is some positive news with Leandro Trossard, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka back in the squad this evening.
David Raya keeps goal once again for Arsenal while Jurrien Timber starts at right-back ahead of Ben White. With Saliba out, Cristhian Mosquera comes in to start alongside Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of defence.
Piero Hincapie is preferred ahead of Riccardo Calafiori at left-back. Martin Zubimendi will be looking to continue his fine form in the middle of the park while Declan Rice also keeps his place after another all-action performance during Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Sunderland last time out.
Eberechi Eze starts in the attacking midfield role with Odegaard on the bench. Bukayo Saka is also not fit enough to start so Noni Madueke keeps his place on the right wing.
Trossard is however deemed fit to start as he lines-up on the left flank meaning Gabriel Martinelli is among the Arsenal substitutes. Viktor Gyokeres leads the line up front with Gabriel Jesus on the bench.
These are the line-ups:
Brentford
Kelleher; Kayode, Ajer, Van den Berg, Henry; Yarmoliuk, Janelt; Ouattara, Jensen, Lewis-Potter; Thiago
Subs: Valdimarsson, Hickey, Pinnock, Collins, Henderson, Damsgaard, Donovan, Bentt, Furo
