Expected Arsenal line-up against Brentford

Arsenal are set to travel to the Gtech Community Stadium to face Brentford in the Premier League tonight.

The North London club will be coming into this game off the back of a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sunderland and are currently at the top of the table with 56 points from 25 matches.

On the other hand, the Bees have enjoyed a promising campaign thus far, sitting only six points behind fifth-placed Chelsea. So, they are in the race to secure a place in European football next season.

Brentford have been excellent at home thus far, losing only twice out of 12 matches. However, Arsenal haven’t lost to the West London club since 2021 and won the reverse fixture 2-0 in December.

Team news

Mikel Merino and Max Dowman aren’t in contention to be involved tonight due to their respective injury problems. On the other hand, Bukayo Saka has been out in recent days, having sustained an issue during warm-up ahead of the Leeds game, and is in doubt for this fixture.

Martin Odegaard has been sidelined in recent matches as well due to a minor problem, and there is a question mark over his availability. Leandro Trossard, meanwhile, picked up a knock vs Sunderland, and it remains to be seen whether he starts tonight.

Predicted line-up

David Raya is set to be between the sticks, while Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba should be the centre-back pairing. Jurrien Timber is likely to start in the right-back position, and Riccardo Calafiori could be on the opposite side.

Therefore, Cristhian Mosquera, Ben White, Piero Hincapié, and Myles Lewis-Skelly would be among the substitutes.

Martin Zubimendi is expected to be the deep-lying playmaker for Arsenal in this encounter, and Declan Rice might be alongside the Spain international.

Kai Havertz may keep hold of his place in the creative midfield position if Odegaard can’t return. In that case, Christian Norgaard and Eberechi Eze would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Noni Madueke could be on the right flank if Saka remains on the sidelines, and Trossard is likely to be on the left. Viktor Gyokeres should lead the line for the Gunners after scoring a brace last time out. Therefore, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli may feature off the bench if needed.
