Arsenal have reportedly accelerated their efforts to sign FC Nordsjaelland youngster Caleb Yirenkyi, as per TEAMtalk.

After graduating from Ghana’s prestigious Right to Dream Academy, the 20-year-old joined the Danish side a couple of years ago, shortly after turning 18.

The African made his first-team debut last season before establishing himself as a key starter in recent times. In 18 Danish Superliga appearances, he has made seven goal contributions thus far this term.

After proving his worth for Nordsjaelland, Yirenkyi has secured his place in the Ghanaian national team, helping his country qualify for next summer’s World Cup.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Yirenkyi’s recent eye-catching performances haven’t gone unnoticed, as he has started attracting attention from numerous big clubs across Europe.

Arsenal have stepped up their monitoring of the youngster, sending scouts to watch him in action closely during last weekend’s league clash against Sønderjyske. He helped his side win the game 2-1, scoring the opening goal and providing the assist for the second.

Arsenal have already held talks to learn about the details of signing him, and Nordsjaelland want around £22m, with his existing deal set to run until 2030. They rejected a £15m bid in January.

Apart from the Gunners, Chelsea and Manchester United have also accelerated their scouting of the Ghanaian and have also made contact to enquire about a potential deal.

Furthermore, Brighton and Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Brentford, and West Ham United are keen on him as well.

French and German clubs have also expressed their interest in Yirenkyi; therefore, it won’t be straightforward for Arsenal to finalise the operation.

The Nordsjaelland star is a box-to-box midfielder by trait, but is also comfortable in the defensive midfield position. Moreover, he can provide cover in the right-back position if needed.

Yirenkyi is a technically gifted player, composed with possession, and is efficient in receiving the ball under pressure. Moreover, he reads the game well and is efficient in defensive contributions.

He is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class midfielder in the future. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they eventually manage to secure his services.
