Arsenal track Ajax Amsterdam winger Mika Godts

By on February 4, 2026

Arsenal have been linked with a possible move for Ajax left winger Mika Godts, according to reports from HLN.

The Gunners are exploring ways to freshen up their squad as they plan ahead for future seasons. One area under close review is the left wing, which the club sees as a position that can still be improved.

Mikel Arteta is keen to add more depth and energy in wide areas. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have both featured on the left side this season.

While both players have delivered solid performances, the club feels there is room for further growth in that role.

Arsenal are therefore keeping an eye on several wide players across Europe. Godts is now one of the names being closely followed by the North London side.

Winger shines in difficult Ajax season

Godts, who is 20 years old, has been one of the standout performers in the Eredivisie this season. He has impressed despite Ajax enduring another tough campaign by their standards.

The young winger has registered ten goals and seven assists in nineteen matches for the Dutch club so far this campaign.

Godts has become Ajax’s most important attacking outlet this season. His pace, direct style, and end product have set him apart from many of his teammates.

Ajax see him as one of the few positives in a season they would rather forget. For that reason, they have been keen to protect him from interest across Europe.

The club made it clear that they had no desire to lose Godts during the January transfer window. They viewed any mid-season exit as unacceptable.

Ajax stance and Arsenal interest

Ajax reportedly received enquiries from several clubs in January. Roma, Napoli, Arsenal, Barcelona, and VfB Stuttgart all showed interest in the winger.

However, Ajax were not open to discussions at that stage. They treated all approaches with little interest and shut the door on talks quickly.

The Dutch side stressed that any possible transfer would only be considered in the summer window. Godts is currently valued at around £13 million, according to Transfermarkt.

Arsenal are aware of Ajax’s stance and understand that patience would be required. Any serious move would need to wait until the end of the season.
