Arsenal linked with Eduardo Camavinga transfer move
Arsenal have been linked with a possible move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, based on reports from CaughtOffside.
The north London side currently sit at the top of the Premier League table and already have strong options in midfield.
Despite this depth, the club are said to be planning further reinforcements in that area of the squad.
Camavinga has built a strong reputation at the highest level and is seen as one of the most trusted midfield players at Real Madrid.
Arsenal Monitoring Midfielder
Arsenal are now eyeing a move for the Frenchman, according to the report, and while Real Madrid have no plans to sell Camavinga in the near future, that stance could change if a large bid is put on the table.
Sources claim that any deal for the midfielder would require a fee of at least £69 million – potential rising to £86 million.
Arsenal are believed to admire Camavinga because of his ability to play in more than one position.
The Frenchman is comfortable in central midfield and can also operate effectively at left back when required. This flexibility is seen as a major reason behind Arsenal’s interest in the Madrid player.
Within the current squad, Arsenal have faced challenges in the left back role this season. Piero Hincapie has found it difficult to settle since arriving and has struggled for consistent form.
Riccardo Calafiori, meanwhile, has spent periods unavailable as he continues to deal with injury issues. These problems have pushed Arsenal to consider players who can cover multiple roles across the pitch.
With Christian Norgaard approaching his 32nd birthday, Arsenal could also see Camavinga as a long-term replacement.
Real Madrid Stance and Transfer Competition
Real Madrid value Camavinga highly and consider him an important part of their squad structure. The report makes it clear that the Spanish club would prefer to keep the midfielder at the Bernabeu.
Any potential exit would only be considered if their high valuation is met in full.
However, Arsenal are not alone in tracking the situation around the French midfielder. Liverpool are also said to be following his progress and could join the race if circumstances change.
Camavinga has already made 24 appearances for Los Blanco in all competitions this season. His regular involvement underlines his importance and explains Madrid’s reluctance to sell.
