Arsenal track rising Red Star star Vasilije Kostov
Arsenal have been linked with a possible move for Red Star Belgrade teenager Vasilije Kostov, according to reports from The Sun.
The Gunners are known for keeping a close eye on young talent across Europe. Kostov is now one of the latest names to appear on their long list of targets.
The North London club continue to plan for the future alongside their current goals. They believe early moves for young players can shape long term success.
Kostov has started to draw strong interest after a rapid rise in Serbia. Several major clubs are watching his progress closely with Arsenal among the interested suitors.
His performances over the past year have pushed him into the spotlight. Scouts across Europe are now tracking his development with growing interest.
Kostov rise draws top European interest
The teenager made his Red Star first team debut in April. Since then, he has become a regular part of the senior squad.
This season, he has featured in both the Serbian SuperLiga and Europa League. Despite his young age, Kostov has shown calmness and confidence on big stages.
He has recorded six goals and five assists in 23 matches so far. He has also received his first senior national team call-up.
Kostov made his international debut against Albania the following month.
Arsenal face stiff competition for teenager
Reports claim Red Star will not sell Kostov this month. The midfielder does not turn 18 until May, which limits short term options.
However, Serbia’s Telegraf reports a different plan for the summer window. Red Star are said to be open to offers above £17 million later this year.
However, Arsenal are not alone in their interest. Bayern Munich have already made an enquiry without submitting a fee. Barcelona were also linked to Kostov after his youth display against their Under-19 side.
Kostov is described as a technical and smart attacking midfielder. He is known for strong vision, quick passing, and close control.
His style has been compared to players like Pedri and Toni Kroos. He can play as a creator, a box to box midfielder, or further forward. He also shows leadership and a high work rate on the pitch.
There is belief he still needs physical growth for deeper defensive roles. Arsenal continue to gather information as the season progresses.
