Arsenal interested in signing Hertha Berlin’s Eichhorn

By on November 7, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Hertha Berlin youngster Kennet Eichhorn, as per German outlet Bild.

Having risen through the German side’s youth system, the 16-year-old made his first team debut earlier this season before establishing himself as a key player in Stefan Leitl’s starting XI.

He has already started nine matches across all competitions thus far. Now, as per Bild (via Metro), Eichhorn’s recent emergence hasn’t gone unnoticed, as he has started attracting a lot of attention ahead of the upcoming winter window.

Arsenal have registered their interest in him and have been monitoring his development closely before making a potential swoop. However, the Gunners will have to overcome fierce competition to seal the deal as Manchester United and Liverpool are the other Premier League clubs in this race.

Moreover, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are also plotting a swoop. So, the German isn’t short of potential suitors at the moment.

Amid growing interest in the youngster, Hertha have slapped a £17m price tag on his head, and meeting that valuation shouldn’t be an issue for any of his potential suitors financially.

Eichhorn likes to play in a double midfield pivot role but is also comfortable in the box-to-box position. He is already 6ft 1in tall and is expected to grow a bit more over the next couple of years.

Eichhorn to Arsenal

Arsenal have built a strong recent reputation for developing young players, with Mikel Arteta showcasing his ability to nurture talent. The likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Ødegaard have all flourished under his guidance.

Moreover, Max Dowman, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Ethan Nwaneri have been handed the opportunities to showcase their talents in the first team, having risen through the Hale End academy.

So, the North London club would be an ideal destination for Eichhorn to continue his development, where he can learn from the best midfielders in the world, such as Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi.

Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club eventually manage to secure his service in the winter window or next summer by defeating other clubs in this race.

Meanwhile, following a comfortable 3-0 victory over Slavia Prague in the Champions League, Arsenal will take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League tomorrow.
