Arsenal monitoring Argentine midfielder Nico Paz
Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Como’s impressive midfielder Nico Paz, as per reports from Mundo Deportivo.
The 21-year-old Argentine has been one of Serie A’s rising stars, drawing attention from several top European clubs.
Tottenham Hotspur were strongly linked with him last summer, and Fabrizio Romano revealed that the north London side even submitted a £61 million offer which was later rejected.
Paz joined Como from Real Madrid in August 2024 and made an instant impact in Italy.
He finished last season with six goals and nine assists, showing his creativity and attacking quality in midfield.
This season, the talented playmaker has already registered four goals and four assists, continuing his impressive form from the previous campaign.
Arsenal’s scouting team has been following his progress closely, though they face competition from other major clubs.
Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Juventus are also monitoring the midfielder, as per the report, reflecting how highly regarded he has become across Europe.
His growing reputation has made him one of the most sought-after young players in the Italian league.
Real Madrid’s buy-back advantage
While the likes of Arsenal are interested in signing Paz, Real Madrid could have the upper hand in any future move.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos included a buy-back clause of around £8.6 million when they sold him to Como.
That clause becomes active in 2026, which could allow the Spanish giants to bring the Argentine back to the Santiago Bernabéu if they choose.
Given Paz is valued at around £48m by Transfermarkt, it’s a no-brainer for Madrid to activate their clause even if they don’t want him, as they could make a fortune on any resale.
At Arsenal, Mikel Arteta already has a strong group of attacking midfielders such as Martin Ødegaard, Eberechi Eze, Ethan Nwaneri, and young Max Dowman.
However, the addition of Paz would add more depth and competition in that position, giving Arteta another creative option.
Paz is a left-footed midfielder known for his sharp vision, passing range, and intelligent movement on the ball.
He enjoys driving forward, making quick turns, and threading accurate passes through tight spaces.
He also contributes defensively by pressing high and working hard off the ball.
Comfortable in physical challenges, Paz shows excellent balance, control, and resistance to pressure.
He prefers using his left foot for shots and long passes but remains composed under pressure in both short and long exchanges.
With his skill, creativity, and growing experience, Nico Paz continues to rise as one of the most promising midfielders in European football.
