Arsenal planning to sign Yildiz in sensational swap deal
Arsenal are reportedly planning to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz in a sensational swap deal, as per a recent Italian report.
After moving to the Emirates Stadium from Manchester City back in 2022, Gabriel Jesus enjoyed a stellar start and helped Mikel Arteta’s side mount a Premier League title charge in his debut season before narrowly losing the race to the Citizens.
However, he hasn’t been able to flourish in his career at North London due to injury problems and has been out for the last few months owing to a serious knee injury.
Following Viktor Gyokeres’ arrival this summer, the North London club currently have the Brazilian, Kai Havertz, and the Swedish international as options for the centre-forward position.
Now, as per a recent Italian report (via TEAMtalk), Arsenal are interested in signing Yildiz and are planning to make a ‘huge bid’ to seal the deal. The youngster is valued at around £78m by the Bianconeri, with his existing deal set to run until 2029.
Arsenal have already launched a £43m bid in cash and are prepared to offer Jesus, who is valued at around £30m by the Gunners, in a part-exchange deal to persuade Juventus to let Yildiz leave.
Yildiz to Arsenal
Having enjoyed a stellar start to this season, making six goal contributions across all competitions, Yildiz has started attracting a lot of attention ahead of the winter window. Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea have reportedly registered their interest in signing him, along with Arsenal.
Yildiz mainly plays as a left-sided forward for Juventus and Turkiye, but is also efficient in providing cover in the creative midfield position if needed.
Arsenal currently have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard as options for the left flank. However, the duo displayed inconsistent performances last term. They have had a better start to this season, but upgrading the left flank might be the right decision for Arteta’s side.
Yildiz has been showcasing signs that he has the potential to reach the top and is still just 20. If he continues to display impressive performances throughout the season, purchasing him would be a no-brainer.
Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services.
