Arsenal have been informed that a fee of £26 million will be required if they wish to secure the signing of Marc Casado, according to Fichajes.
He has been linked to the Premier League side on several occasions, with interest now growing stronger.
Barcelona open to offers
Casado has found it difficult to gain regular minutes this season, featuring in four La Liga games and collecting only 210 minutes of action.
He has provided one assist during that period, but competition for places in midfield has limited his involvement.
Barcelona have a number of options in central areas, with Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez all ahead in the pecking order.
The depth of talent means opportunities have been limited for the young Spaniard, despite his progress through the club’s ranks.
Reports in Spain suggest the club would consider selling if an offer of around £26m arrives, though they would prefer to keep him should no bid match their valuation.
His sale would help ease financial pressure and create space in a squad already packed with midfield talent.
Growing Premier League interest
Casado’s profile has not gone unnoticed in England. As well as Arsenal, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also reportedly following the midfielder closely.
His reputation as one of the most promising talents in Spain makes him an attractive target for clubs seeking long term investment.
Barcelona’s financial situation continues to demand difficult decisions.
The sale of a player raised through the youth system, who still has a high value in the market, would help balance the books.
For Arsenal, the opportunity to add a young holding midfielder with room for growth could prove tempting.
However, they will have to meet the asking price if they wish to win the race against other suitors.
Casado remains seen as a player with potential to grow into a key figure, but his future now lies in the hands of clubs willing to match Barcelona’s demand.
