Arsenal to open talks to sign Frankfurt star Nathaniel Brown

By on September 23, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Nathaniel Brown, as per Caught Offside.

After ranking through FC Nürnberg’s youth system, the 22-year-old joined the Eagles last year. Dino Toppmoller’s side initially signed him in January, but he didn’t move to Deutsche Bank Park before last summer.

Brown enjoyed a promising debut campaign in the Bundesliga last term, netting three times and notching up six assists in 22 starts. He even kept five clean sheets; additionally, the youngster guided his team to qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top three.

The defender has had a bright start to this season, scoring a solitary goal and registering an assist in two starts in the Champions League and Bundesliga.

Now, Caught Offside claim that, having been impressed by Brown’s recent eye-catching performances, Arsenal have expressed their interest in signing him. The North London club have been monitoring his development closely and are planning to open formal talks over this deal soon.

However, purchasing the German won’t be straightforward for the Gunners as Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa are also keen on him. Like Arsenal, the Citizens are also contemplating opening negotiations to sign him.

Brown to Arsenal

The Frankfurt star has a contract until 2030 and is valued at around £19m by Transfermarkt. Meaning, the German side aren’t in any rush to sell him, and Arsenal will have to launch a lucrative proposal to persuade them to cash-in.

The left-back is a talented player and could be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future, should they eventually opt to secure his service.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side have reinforced the left side of the defence by signing Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapié in the last two summer windows.

On the other hand, they also have Myles Lewis-Skelly as an option; furthermore, Jurrien Timber can provide cover in this area if needed. Therefore, Arsenal don’t need to invest more to add further depth to this position.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service in January or next summer.
