Predicted Arsenal line-up against Nottingham Forest
Arsenal will welcome Nottingham Forest to the Emirates Stadium in a crucial Premier League encounter today.
The Gunners started the season with two consecutive victories over Manchester United and Leeds United without conceding a goal. However, they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against title rival Liverpool just before the international break. So, Mikel Arteta’s side will be desperate to return to winning ways today.
On the other hand, following a 3-0 defeat to West Ham United last month, Forest decided to dismiss Nuno Espirito Santo from the managerial role, and the former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as the new manager.
Team news
Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is unavailable to feature today due to a hamstring injury, which he sustained against Leeds. William Saliba suffered an ankle problem during warm-up vs Liverpool, but he still started and only managed to play a few minutes before being taken off.
He didn’t train on Thursday but was involved in training yesterday. So, he could be available to feature in this game. On the other hand, the good news for Arsenal is that Ben White is ready to return, while Christian Norgaard is also expected to be available.
Predicted line-up
Arteta is likely to field his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation with David Raya set to be between the sticks. If Saliba can’t start, Cristhian Mosquera is expected to make his full debut for his new club, and Gabriel Magalhaes should be alongside the Spaniard.
Jurrien Timber might continue in the right-back position, while Riccardo Calafiori would be on the opposite side. Therefore, White, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Piero Hincapié could be among the substitutes.
Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice are likely to be paired up in the engine room, with Martin Odegaard set to be in the creative midfield position for the Gunners. So, Norgaard, Mikel Merino, and Ethan Nwaneri would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Amid Saka’s absence, Noni Madueke should continue on the right, and Eberechi Eze might be on the opposite side. Therefore, Gabriel Martinelli may feature off the bench if needed. Viktor Gyokeres is set to lead the line for the hosts.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Nottingham Forest:
Raya; Timber, Mosquera, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard; Madueke, Gyokeres, Eze
