Arsenal’s pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is now facing a huge obstacle, as Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly rekindled their interest in the 27-year-old.

This development, according to Fabrizio Romano, has caused some concern at the Emirates as Spurs look to rival the Gunners for Eze’s signature.

Eze has won both the FA Cup and the Community Shield with Palace, establishing himself as one of the club’s most admired and influential figures.

The North London club had already bolstered their attacking options with the arrivals of Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke.

However, Mikel Arteta is still keen on strengthening his attacking line, particularly on the left flank.

Eze has been a prime target for Arsenal as they look to add more firepower to their squad.

Tottenham’s push for Eze intensifies

Romano claims that Tottenham, having suffered a significant setback with the long-term injury of James Maddison, are keen on signing Eze to fill the void.

The transfer expert says Spurs are now in fresh discussions with Palace over a deal for the player, and Eze is believed to be open to a potential move.

While Arsenal remain interested, they face a challenge in securing the deal. Before making any move for Eze, they must first clear some players off their books.

This delay has left the door open for Spurs to try and hijack Arsenal’s proposed move for the attacking midfielder.

Additionally, Eze’s £68 million release clause is set to expire this Friday, making it even more urgent for both clubs to act quickly.

Despite the growing interest from Tottenham, Arsenal are not ready to give up.

The club continues to monitor the situation, but time is running out for them to complete the deal before the clause expires.

Arsenal will need to offload players before they can make a serious move for the Crystal Palace star, according to reports from The Guardian.
