Arsenal agree initial fee to sign Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze

By on July 27, 2025

Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Eberechi Eze and have now agreed an initial fee with Crystal Palace to land the attacking midfielder this summer, according to Football Transfers.

So far this summer, the Gunners have been one of the busiest sides in the market.

They have brought in Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera while a big-money move for Viktor Gyökeres was announced on Saturday.

Even with those signings, Arsenal are not done yet. The club are now targeting a move to sign Eberechi Eze as they aim to add more firepower to their midfield.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Arsenal have been in talks with the 27-year-old’s representatives for some time and Eze has already given the green light to moving to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are working on player exits, and a few departures could help make space for Eze. Offloading players would also give Arsenal more room to operate financially.

Initial fee agreed

It appears Arsenal are confident of raising the required funds as Football Transfers now claims that the North Londoners have agreed an initial fee with Crystal Palace.

The report says Arsenal acknowledge they need to meet Eze’z £68m release clause but are hoping to pay that fee in several instalments. The Gunners have agreed to pay Palace an initial £30m and the two clubs are now working on the structure of the remaining £38m.

Football Transfers says Palace want the money paid within two years but Arsenal are hoping to negotiate slightly more favourable terms. Eze has already agreed personal terms over his proposed move to the Emirates Stadium, as per the report.

Eze is no stranger to the demands of the Premier League. The midfielder has adapted well to top-flight football and would not need time to adjust if he joins Arsenal.

Last season, Eze registered 14 goals and 11 assists across all competitions. He also helped Crystal Palace win the FA Cup, playing a major role in their success.

Mikel Arteta wants to build a squad capable of finally winning major honours again. Adding a player like Eze would add some much needed depth in the attacking midfield department.

Arsenal started their build-up to the new season with a 1-0 win over AC Milan in their opening pre-season fixture held in Singapore.

The Gunners will now face Newcastle United on 27 July as they continue their preparations for the upcoming campaign.
