Arsenal plan swap deal to sign Eberechi Eze
Arsenal are expected to intensify their push for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze this summer, as reported by Football Transfers.
The Gunners are determined to bring the 27-year-old to the Emirates and are exploring a creative way to get the deal over the line.
Although Eze has a release clause of £68 million in his current contract, Arsenal are not looking to meet that figure outright.
Instead, they are planning to offer a fee below the release clause and include players as part of the arrangement.
Reports claim both clubs are open to talks about a player-plus-cash structure.
However, any player that leaves Arsenal for Selhurst Park would do so in a separate deal for financial reporting purposes.
This is to keep the books clean and avoid complications in the accounts of both clubs.
Arsenal ready to offer three players in exchange
While formal negotiations between the two clubs are yet to begin, Arsenal have already held talks with Eze’s representatives.
The discussions suggest the Gunners are serious about bringing him in as one of their headline signings of the summer.
Three players have reportedly been proposed as part of the potential exchange — Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira.
All three are believed to be available if it helps Arsenal complete the signing of Eze.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner is understood to be a fan of Trossard and would be open to having the Belgian winger as part of the agreement.
Trossard is currently in contract talks with Arsenal, but with just one year left on his deal, a summer move could benefit all parties.
Reiss Nelson, meanwhile, has also been linked with clubs in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old is looking for more regular playing time, and Palace could offer him that chance.
Fabio Vieira, who still has admirers within Arsenal, has struggled for minutes and is also being considered.
Arsenal see Eze as a player who fits Mikel Arteta’s system.
The club now hope that offering players Palace admire will give them an edge in completing the move.
