Arsenal plan talks with Juventus over Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal are expected to hold talks with Juventus over a possible deal for Dusan Vlahovic, according to a report from The Sun.
The Gunners are keen to sign a new striker before the season begins. Mikel Arteta wants more attacking options as he aims to strengthen his squad.
Although Arsenal have been heavily linked with Viktor Gyökeres, progress on that deal has slowed due to Sporting Lisbon’s firm stance.
This has led the Gunners to assess other realistic alternatives in the market.
One of them is Vlahovic, who was previously on Arsenal’s radar before his move to Italy.
The Serbian forward has long been admired by Arsenal.
They were among the clubs interested in him before Juventus completed his signing in 2022.
Juventus open to sale as United circle
Vlahovic has scored 43 league goals in 104 matches for Juventus. Despite his record, the Serie A side are now willing to sell him.
The 25-year-old is no longer seen as a key part of Juventus’ plans under new leadership. That has encouraged clubs to move for him.
Arsenal believe he could add a different profile to their current striker options. He is powerful, holds up play well, and scores from close range and set pieces.
Vlahovic is mostly left-footed but has worked on improving his right foot. He is dangerous in the air and can shoot from distance with accuracy.
Manchester United are also reportedly interested, especially with doubts growing over Rasmus Hojlund’s role next season.
Ruben Amorim is said to be pushing for a proven goalscorer. Vlahovic is among the top targets being considered.
The meeting between Arsenal and Juventus is expected to give both sides clarity.
It could open the door for serious negotiations if the price is right. Vlahovic is valued at around £30m by Transfermarkt, so he would be a far cheaper alternative to Gyokeres.
For Arsenal, bringing in a natural centre-forward remains a key objective. Vlahovic may now be a more available and affordable target than before.
