Arsenal interested in signing PSG star Bradley Barcola
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola, as per transfer expert Mike Brown.
If recent reports are accurate, the Gunners plan to spend heavily this summer to overhaul the attack and narrow the gap with Liverpool.
Signing a new centre-forward is Mikel Arteta’s priority, and the North London club are expected to buy RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko or Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres.
Moreover, Arsenal want a new right winger to support Bukayo Saka, and Noni Madueke has been suggested as a serious option. Additionally, they want a new left winger, following Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard’s average performances last term.
Rodrygo Goes, Eberechi Eze, and Anthony Gordon have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. Now, on Football Insider, Brown says that Arsenal want to replace Martinelli and have identified Barcola as a serious option.
The Frenchman is a ‘very talented’ player and has undoubted qualities, but isn’t a guaranteed starter for PSG due to the presence of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele, and Desire Doue.
Barcola to Arsenal
However, Arsenal would be able to offer him guaranteed first-team football. So, they might be able to tempt him to join and have been monitoring him closely before making a potential swoop.
But Barcola is still a key member of Luis Enrique’s squad, and they don’t want to weaken their team. Therefore, they don’t want to part ways with him, meaning Arsenal might have to offer an unrefusable proposal to seal the deal.
Brown said:
“Arsenal want to replace Gabriel Martinelli. They’ve been looking at a few options for that positions, some big-name players are on their list, and I hear Bradley Barcola is one of those. He’s a very talented player, he’s got undoubted quality, but he’s not nailed-on at PSG.”
Barcola enjoyed a stellar campaign last term, although he wasn’t a regular starter, scoring 21 goals and registering 18 assists in 58 appearances in all competitions.
The 22-year-old is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a world-class winger. He would be an upgrade to Martinelli; therefore, the Frenchman would be a great coup for the North London club should they eventually manage to secure his service in this transfer window.
