Arsenal hold ‘positive talks’ to sign Eberechi Eze

By on July 2, 2025

Arsenal have reportedly held ‘positive talks’ over a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, as per transfer journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Eagles have been displaying promising performances since Oliver Glasner was appointed the new manager last year. He helped his side finish mid-table in the 2023/24 campaign.

In his first full season at Selhurst Park, the German guided the South London club to win the FA Cup last term. This is the club’s first major trophy ever, and as a result of this triumph, they are expected to play in the Europa League next season.

Following Crystal Palace’s eye-catching displays, a few of their star players have been attracting the attention of several big clubs around Europe.

Bayern Munich signed Michael Olise last summer, and he has been in excellent form for the German giants. On the other hand, Marc Guehi has placed himself on the radar of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Adam Wharton has also been linked with a move to big Premier League clubs.

Eze to Arsenal

Now, on GiveMeSport, Jacobs says that Arsenal have registered their interest in Eze to bolster the attack and have already held ‘positive talks’ with the player’s representatives over this deal.

The Crystal Palace star is ‘keen’ on moving to the Emirates Stadium and has a £68m release clause with his existing deal set to run until 2027. However, the North London club don’t want to spend that much and are hoping to seal the deal for a reduced fee.

So, if they fail to purchase Eze, Arsenal have identified Rodrygo Goes and Anthony Gordon as potential alternative options. Moreover, they were interested in Jamie Gittens, but he has agreed to join Chelsea.

Tottenham previously expressed their interest in Eze, but aren’t looking to sign him at the moment. Instead, they have been working to purchase Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.

In 43 appearances in all competitions, Eze scored 14 goals and notched up 12 assists last term. He even scored the winner against Man City in the FA Cup final. He is a versatile forward as he can play on the left flank and in the CAM role.
