Arsenal agree personal terms with Mosquera
Arsenal have reportedly reached full personal agreement with Valencia’s highly rated defender Cristhian Mosquera, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners view the 21-year-old Spanish centre-back as a key signing as they look to strengthen their defensive options this summer.
Mikel Arteta is focused on improving his backline after struggling with injuries during key parts of last season.
Mosquera has already made it clear that he wants to join the Premier League side and is eager to take the next step in his career.
The Gunners are serious about completing the move, having identified the young defender as a long-term option at the heart of their defence.
Arsenal preparing second bid after first offer rejected
Arsenal’s first offer for the player, worth around £12 million, has already been rejected by the Spanish club.
Despite the setback, the Gunners are preparing a second bid and remain confident of securing a deal for the defender.
The club hopes to get the transfer completed for a fee below £17 million, as talks continue between both sides.
Sporting director Andrea Berta is working alongside key figures at the club to get the deal finalised as soon as possible.
Mosquera’s arrival at the Emirates would add more depth and youth to a backline that already includes top talents like William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães.
He would also have the opportunity to learn from experienced players such as Jurrien Timber, who is returning from injury.
The Spanish defender is known for his calmness on the ball, positional awareness, and ability to read the game at a young age.
Bringing in a player of Mosquera’s quality would not only boost Arsenal’s squad depth but also provide competition in the centre-back position.
Arsenal remain determined to wrap up key signings early in the window, and Mosquera is high on the list of priorities.
If the Gunners can complete the deal, they will be adding another top European talent to their project for the future.
