Arsenal show interest in signing Ademola Lookman
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman from Serie A club Atalanta.
This was exclusively revealed by Robbie Lyle of AFTV, who confirmed the Gunners are now watching the 27-year-old closely.
Mikel Arteta’s side are in search of a new winger to strengthen their options on the left side of the attack.
The Gunners have been linked with several wide players in recent weeks, including Rodrygo Goes and Eberechi Eze.
Now, Lookman has joined the list of potential targets, following his impressive form for Atalanta last season.
The former Fulham and Leicester City winger struggled during his time in the Premier League.
However, his move to Italy has seen a huge turnaround in his career, with consistent performances in front of goal.
Lookman’s Rise and Why Arsenal Are Interested
Since joining Atalanta, Lookman has grown into one of the most dangerous wingers in European football.
He scored 20 goals and registered seven assists in all competitions last season, a career-best tally.
Lookman is also remembered for his historic hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
By doing so, he became the first African player to score three goals in a European final.
His performances helped Atalanta lift the Europa League title for the first time in their history.
Lookman’s versatility and ability to play across the front line makes him a useful option for Arsenal.
He could offer solid competition for both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left wing.
According to Transfermarkt, the Nigerian is currently valued at around £52 million.
Lookman is known for his speed, close control, and sharp movement when running at defenders.
He often gets past his marker in one-on-one situations and can deliver accurate crosses into the box.
The Atalanta star is also a composed finisher, capable of scoring with both feet and even his head.
His clever runs into the box make him a constant threat in the final third, both as a creator and scorer.
With Arsenal aiming to challenge on all fronts next season, Lookman’s arrival could add extra quality to the squad.
