Arsenal eye move to sign Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi

By on June 28, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The German giants have been known for their ability to develop young players. They sign highly talented youngsters for cheap and sell them for a big profit.

Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, Ousmane Dembele, and Jude Bellingham were all developed by BVB. Bellingham and Haaland have been thriving at Real Madrid and Manchester City, respectively.

Dembele enjoyed a stellar time at PSG last term but struggled at Barcelona. Sancho, on the other hand, hasn’t been able to flourish in his career since leaving Dortmund.

BVB currently have Jamie Gittens and Adeyemi, and the duo has been attracting attention in recent times, having displayed impressive performances. Chelsea are said to be very close to signing the Englishman.

Now, Fichajes state that Arsenal are keen on bolstering the wide areas, and Nico Williams of Athletic Club was their primary target, but the player is likely to join Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

Adeyemi to Arsenal

So, Arsenal have shifted focus to alternative options and have identified Adeyemi as a serious option. The 23-year-old is valued at around £38m by Transfermarkt and is set to enter the final two years of his current contract. Dortmund are open to cashing-in on him should they receive a ‘compelling’ offer.

The German was heavily linked with a move away from Signal Iduna Park in the winter window, and Napoli were working to sign him. But a deal eventually didn’t come to fruition.

Adeyemi is a versatile forward as he is comfortable on either flank. In 36 appearances in all competitions, he made 19 goal contributions last term.

He is a talented player and possesses high potential, so he would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, Adeyemi has been involved in the Club World Cup with Dortmund, and if the German side go deep into this competition, the player won’t have time for pre-season, and that could hamper his performance level next term.

Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service this summer.
