Arsenal have reportedly made initial contact with Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes as they continue their push for a left winger.
The Gunners are eager to boost their attacking options and have explored several targets across Europe.
Rodrygo has now emerged as one of the names under consideration, according to a report from Spanish outlet AS.
Though the discussions are said to be informal, it signals clear intent from Arsenal to add quality in wide areas.
The 24-year-old Brazilian is reportedly open to leaving Madrid, with growing uncertainty over his future role at the club.
Before making any decision, he is expected to speak with the club’s incoming manager, Xabi Alonso, to understand where he stands.
Clubs Circle as Arsenal Make First Approach
Rodrygo’s availability has attracted interest from several top sides across the continent.
Arsenal, however, are believed to be the first to reach out, although no formal offer has yet been made.
Chelsea are also monitoring the situation closely. With Champions League football secured for next season, they are looking to make a high-profile addition in the market. Rodrygo is seen as a player who fits the bill.
Arsenal’s desire for a left-sided forward has seen them linked with other names including Nico Williams, Rafael Leao, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
Rodrygo, who has been with Real Madrid since 2019, could command a fee in the region of £84 million if the Spanish giants decide to sell, as per the report.
Should he make the switch to North London, he would reunite with fellow Brazilians Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli at the Emirates Stadium.
At this stage, all interest remains preliminary. The final decision will depend on conversations between Rodrygo and Xabi Alonso in the coming weeks.
The summer transfer window is expected to be a busy one, and Arsenal appear ready to make bold moves to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad.
