Arsenal ‘tempted to step up’ efforts to sign Eberechi Eze

By on May 21, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly ‘tempted to step up’ efforts to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, as per GiveMeSport.

After enduring yet another trophyless campaign this season, the Gunners have already started making moves in the market to bolster the squad this summer.

With Jorginho set to leave as a free agent, Mikel Arteta’s side are said to be close to signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad to replace the former Chelsea star.

Moreover, it is an open secret that Arsenal want a new striker and have been linked with a host of names, with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko being among them.

Now, GiveMeSport report that Arsenal are also interested in upgrading the left flank, which include Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, and have identified Eze as a serious option, having been impressed by his performances in the FA Cup this season.

The player is determined to leave the South London club this summer to compete in the Champions League, and they are open to letting him leave if a club like Arsenal, who have been challenging for big silverware, come to sign him.

Eze to Arsenal

Arsenal are ‘tempted to step up’ efforts to sign the 26-year-old and could be ready to get the deal done by triggering his £68m release clause this summer.

However, the North London club aren’t the only club interested in signing him as Chelsea, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur are also plotting a swoop.

Eze is a versatile forward as he can play several positions in the attack, but is primarily a left-sided forward. In 41 appearances in all competitions, he has scored 13 goals and registered 12 assists this season. The forward also showcased his productivity last season.

The Englishman is a talented player and possesses the technical qualities to play in Arteta’s system. Therefore, he would be a great coup for the North London club should they eventually manage to secure his service in the upcoming transfer window.

The Gunners are said to be prepared to spend big this summer, and it remains to be seen how many new acquisitions they eventually make before the deadline.
