Arsenal eye move for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, according to Givemesport.
The 24-year-old winger has had a standout season for the Bees. He has grown into one of the most exciting attacking players in the Premier League.
Mbeumo, who represents Cameroon at international level, has formed a strong attacking link with team-mate Yoane Wissa. Between them, they have helped Brentford stay clear of danger this season.
Mbeumo has delivered 19 goals and nine assists in all competitions for Thomas Frank’s team this season.
His speed, dribbling, and ability to play across the front line have drawn the attention of top clubs with Arsenal reportedly in the race.
Arsenal are looking to bring in an attacking option ahead of next season. The Gunners fell short in some big games due to a lack of clinical edge in the final third.
Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have struggled to hit top form throughout the campaign. Neither of them has reached double digits in the league.
That has left Mikel Arteta needing more quality in wide areas. The addition of Mbeumo could help improve the team’s overall attacking output.
The Gunners are preparing for another serious push for the Premier League title and the Champions League next season.
Adding a player with Mbeumo’s profile and output would offer fresh energy and final product on either flank.
Brentford Set to Demand Over £60m
Brentford are expected to demand a fee in excess of £60 million for the Cameroon international, as per the report.
The Bees have no pressure to sell and know Mbeumo is one of their most valuable assets.
Arsenal will need to make a serious offer to tempt Brentford into negotiations.
Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta are already planning for the summer window. They want to bring in players who can hit the ground running next season.
Mbeumo fits the type of player Arsenal want— prime age, proven in the Premier League, and still improving.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will push ahead with a formal bid. But it is clear the winger is firmly on their radar.
