Confirmed line-ups: Liverpool vs Arsenal – Rice ruled out, White starts
Arsenal need to put the Champions League disappointment behind them as we take on Liverpool at Anfield this afternoon.
We were knocked out by PSG in the semi-finals on Wednesday night but we can’t feel sorry for ourselves as there is still work to be done in the Premier League with just four points separating Arsenal in second to Chelsea in fifth.
Mikel Arteta has named a strong side for today’s game with David Raya keeping goal once again while Jakub Kiwior continues his partnership alongside William Saliba in the continued absence of Gabriel Magalhaes.
Ben White is recalled to start at right-back in place of Jurrien Timber while Myles Lewis-Skelly keeps his place at left-back ahead of Riccardo Calafiori.
Thomas Partey keeps his place in midfield but Declan Rice is ruled out of the game in a huge blow for Arsenal. Mikel Merino drops into midfield and Martin Odegaard captains the Gunners once again this afternoon.
Bukayo Saka will be looking to end the season strongly as he lines-up on the right flank while Leandro Trossard gets a start in attack. Gabriel Martinelli starts with the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Raheem Sterling on the bench.
These are the teams:
Arsenal
Raya, White, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly, Partey, Merino, Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Trossard.
Subs: Neto, Tierney, Timber, Zinchenko, Calafiori, Butler-Oyedeji, Henry-Francis, Nwaneri, Sterling
Liverpool
Alisson, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Jones, Szoboszlai, Salah, Diaz, Gakpo.
Subs: Kelleher, Endo, Nunez, Mac Allister, Elliott, Jota, Tsimikas, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah
