Arsenal predicted line-up vs Paris Saint-Germain
Arsenal will face off against Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes Stadium in the Champions League semi-final second leg tonight.
The Gunners lost the first leg at home 1-0 courtesy of Ousmane Dembele’s precise early finish. So, Mikel Arteta’s side will have to turn the tie around in this game to reach the final.
Team news
Arsenal will be without Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Gabriel Magalhaes for this game as the quarter’s season is already over due to their injury problems.
Moreover, Jorginho and Riccardo Calafiori have also been struggling with injuries. The former Chelsea star is expected to remain sidelined today, but Calafiori has returned to full training after recovering from his issue. Still, he may not feature in this game.
After starting in the first leg last week, Jurrien Timber was among the absentees in the last game against AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League. But he was pictured in training ahead of this encounter, so he may be ready for tonight. Thomas Partey was suspended for the first leg last week but is eligible to play in this game.
Predicted line-up
Arteta surprisingly opted to go with his full team for the weekend’s game against Bournemouth. Still, they ended up on the losing side despite leading. Therefore, fatigue could be an issue in the second half of this game as they are set to play three games in a very short time.
David Raya is likely to continue between the sticks for the visitors, while William Saliba and Jakub Kiwior are set to be the centre-back partnership. Timber may commence in the right-back position, and Myles Lewis-Skelly would be on the opposite side. In that case, Ben White would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Partey should be in the CDM role, and Declan Rice might be alongside the Ghanaian in the engine room, with Martin Odegaard likely to be the attacking midfielder.
Bukayo Saka should be on the right flank, and Gabriel Martinelli may be on the left. Mikel Merino should be leading the line for the North London club. Therefore, Leandro Trossard could feature off the bench.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs PSG
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Merino, Martinelli
