Arsenal ‘keen’ on signing Man Utd target Bryan Mbeumo

By on May 5, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly ‘keen’ on signing Manchester United target and Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, as per Caught Offside.

The 25-year-old has been in stellar form at Gtech Community Stadium this season, scoring 18 goals and registering seven assists in 39 appearances in all competitions.

He has been playing a key role in his side’s quest for European football next season. The Bees are currently ninth in the Premier League table with 52 points from 35 games.

If Crystal Palace fail to win the FA Cup, then eighth place would be enough to play in the Conference League next season, and Thomas Frank’s side are just one point behind this spot. AFC Bournemouth are in this position at the moment.

Mbeumo has now been the main man for Brentford this season following Ivan Toney’s departure last summer. It appears the Cameroonian’s recent eye-catching displays have attracted several Premier League clubs.

Mbeumo to Arsenal

Caught Offside claim that Man Utd are interested in signing the forward and are preparing to submit a formal proposal to lure him to Old Trafford this summer. Frank has admitted that Brentford are a selling club and they are open to cashing-in on him, but have slapped a big £60m price tag on his head.

The Red Devils aren’t the only club interested in the African as Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and Newcastle United also want him, but the Magpies might find it difficult to get the deal done by matching the price tag.

Arsenal are also ‘keen’ on signing Mbeumo and have been keeping a close eye on his situation before making a potential swoop this summer.

Mbeumo’s current contract will expire at the end of next season, but Brentford have an option to extend his deal for a further year. So, they are in a strong position to demand a big fee to sell him this summer.

The African is a talented player and has proven his worth in the Premier League. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him.

However, they already have Bukayo Saka as the first-choice option to deploy on the right flank, and Ethan Nwaneri is his backup. So, Arsenal don’t need to spend big to hire a new right winger this summer.
