Arsenal considering signing Dusan Vlahovic this summer
Arsenal are reportedly considering signing Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic this summer, as per a recent report.
It has widely been suggested that the Gunners are prioritising signing a new prolific goal-scorer in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce their frontline as their current striker options, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, have struggled to showcase their best this season. Although Kai Havertz has done extremely well in recent times, he isn’t a specialist centre-forward.
Numerous strikers have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over the last few weeks with Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres being among them.
However, all three of those targets would be very expensive for Arsenal. So, according to the report by Tutto Sport (via TEAMtalk), Arsenal are planning to make a swoop for a cheaper alternative option and have identified Vlahovic as a key target.
The report further claims that Arsenal have a ‘concrete’ chance of signing Vlahovic as Juventus would be willing to cash-in on the Serbian if £52m is put on the table.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
The Gunners hold a long-term interest in Vlahovic as they tried to purchase him a couple of years ago but the player eventually decided to sign for the Old Lady of Turin. However, the Italian report states that Arsenal have a ‘concrete’ chance to finally sign their long-term target in the upcoming window.
After joining Juventus from Fiorentina back in 2022, the 24-year-old hasn’t had a great time at Allianz Stadium. But, he has been enjoying a productive campaign this term, scoring 17 goals and registering four assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.
Vlahovic is quick, strong, good in the air, can hold-up the play, possesses the poacher’s instinct inside the box, is efficient in linking-up the play and also works extremely hard without possession.
The Juventus star is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class forward in future. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce their attacking department.
