Thierry Henry identifies key that will determine Arsenal’s title hopes

On CBS Sports, Thierry Henry explained why he is convinced Arsenal will win the Premier League and which games are critical to their success.
I suppose every football fan is interested in watching the Premier League title race unfold. The next three months are critical in that regard. Gooners must be confident as the Premier League title race nears its conclusion.
Arsenal have been performing exceptionally well since the winter break. They have won their last five league games convincingly, as seen below:
- Arsenal 5-0 Crystal Palace
- Nottingham 1-2 Arsenal
- Arsenal 3-1 Liverpool
- West Ham 0-6 Arsenal
- Burnley 0-5 Arsenal
Henry speaks of Arsenal’s title chances
As hopeful as Arsenal fans will be, Thierry Henry is also confident in Mikel Arteta’s team. Speaking after Manchester City defeated Brentford 1-0, Henry conceded that Arsenal’s slip to third place, one point behind the Citizens, was unsettling. But he is confident that Arsenal have found efficiency in front of goal, something he believes they should have achieved even without the signing of a striker.
With goals not a problem, his main concern is how Arsenal will handle the last five away games, as he feels how the Gunners perform in those matches will decide the title for us.
“When you are third, you don’t feel comfortable,” said Henry on CBS Sports via HITC.
“Where I am kind of happy, I mentioned it, the front three not scoring enough goals, and people go on the bandwagon straight away, ‘they need a striker’. They needed to finish their opportunities because they had so many opportunities.
“I could show you games where they had chances way more easier than the one they scored with recently, but they didn’t put the ball into the back of the net.
“When we are in a situation when we create chances and we put the ball into the back of the net, even playing without Gabriel Jesus, we can be very difficult to beat.
“But the last five games away from home will decide the title for us at Arsenal.”
Arsenal’s last five away games are:
- Manchester City vs Arsenal (March 31st)
- Brighton vs Arsenal (April 6th)
- Wolves vs Arsenal (April 20th)
- Tottenham vs Arsenal (April 27th)
- Manchester United vs Arsenal (May 11th)
So, it’s easy to see why Henry has identified this run of fixtures as key to Arsenal’s title hopes. Those five games on the road are going to be extremely difficult.
The best thing Arteta and Arsenal can do is not think ahead too much, focus on one game at a time, and keep grinding out results. If they can keep the winning momentum going into the final few weeks, Arsenal will have every chance of winning their first title since 2004.
