Arsenal linked with £60m Pedro Neto as Wolves prepare to cash in

According to Football Insider, Wolverhampton may have to sell Arsenal transfer target Pedro Neto this summer. However, before we get into the specifics of why Neto’s sale is essential for Wolves, can we acknowledge that the news regarding the Portuguese winger is something that every Gooner has wanted to hear.

Arsenal’s desire to find the ideal Saka backup is well known. The Hale End graduate has been a spark on Arsenal’s right wing, and his brilliance has allowed him to make the position his own. With no one capable of replicating his prowess on the right wing, Mikel Arteta has excessively used Saka. Overreliance on such a young player is unfair; it may cause him to burn out, affecting the player’s production and even long-term reliability.

So Arsenal need competition in attack and several right wingers have been scouted, among them Pedro Neto. Neto’s transfer to Arsenal would not surprise many, given how frequently he has been linked, and that deal could happen this summer as Neto could be available for the right price.

Neto tipped for a headline summer exit

According to Football Insider, who base their argument on Pete O’Rourke’s comments on Their Insider Track Podcast, the transfer insider tells them Wolves require at least two headline sales in the summer to be on good terms with FFP and allow Gary O’Neil to recruit ‘his players’.

Looking at the Wolves squad, it is thought that Neto is their most saleable asset and may garner the greatest interest due to his explosive form this season. Teamtalk previously reported Arsenal were leading the race and Neto may be available for around £60 million.

Despite the fact that an injury has seen him miss a number of games, he has 3 goals and 10 assists in 17 games across all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.

I don’t know about you, but I feel the Portuguese international may be the one to lighten Saka’s weight on Arsenal’s right wing. However, signing him is not as simple as knowing he will be sold. Arsenal will have to turn their interest in him into a tempting offer, but will they?
