Pundit tips Arsenal to sign Michael Olise to bolster squad

By on January 3, 2024

Former defender turned pundit Janusz Michallik has tipped Arsenal to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise to bolster the forward department.

The Gunners have been exploring the possibility of signing a new right-winger over the last few years to add depth to their wide area. However, despite being linked with numerous options, they haven’t signed anyone yet.

Bukayo Saka is the only player Mikel Arteta has at his disposal to deploy on the right flanks. So, the Hale End graduate has been playing almost every game over the last few campaigns for the North London club. As a result, he has looked tired in recent games and due to that, he has been struggling to showcase his best.

Now, speaking on ESPN, Michallik has said that Olise is a highly talented player and Arsenal should look to sign him to bolster the right-wing position.

However, the pundit states that apart from Arsenal, Olise would be an excellent signing for Liverpool or Chelsea as well if any of those clubs manage to secure his signature.

Pundit urges Arsenal to sign Olise

Michallik said:

“You know the name that they’ve gone after, and I think it’s worth mentioning because Arsenal could use a player like that, I think to a degree Liverpool could use a player like that, and the name of that player for Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool is Michael Olise.”

Olise enjoyed a promising campaign last term, but he couldn’t feature in the first few months of this campaign for Crystal Palace due to injury problems. However, after returning to full fitness, he has started to showcase his best once again in recent times, scoring five goals and registering a solitary assist in nine league appearances.

The Frenchman – valued at around £43m by Transfermarkt – is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class winger going forward so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him this year.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to secure the France U21 international’s signature.
