Arsenal predicted line-up vs Manchester City
Arsenal will travel to Etihad Stadium to face off against the title rival Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners will be coming into this game off the back of three consecutive draws so, Mikel Arteta’s side have lost their momentum ahead of this crunch clash.
Arsenal are currently five points ahead of Man City, having played two extra games so they can’t afford to lose in this encounter. But, if the Gunners manage to come away with all three points tomorrow then that will be a huge boost in their quest of winning the title.
Arsenal haven’t been able to find victory at the Etihad Stadium since 2015. So, it will be a daunting task for Arteta’s troops to defeat Man City, who are unbeaten since February.
Expected Arsenal line-up
Despite enduring a difficult time against Southampton, Aaron Ramsdale is set to keep hold of his place between the sticks for Arsenal and Matt Turner will remain on the bench in this fixture.
William Saliba hasn’t recovered from his back issue, so the Frenchman is set to miss out tomorrow. Meaning Rob Holding is likely to start at the heart of Arsenal’s defence alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, leaving Jakub Kiwior on the bench.
Ben White will keep hold of his place in the right-back position and Oleksandr Zinchenko should remain on the left side. So, Kieran Tierney will be among the substitutes.
Thomas Partey should continue as the holding midfielder for Arsenal. Granit Xhaka was sidelined due to illness versus Southampton and Arteta has said that the Swiss remains a doubt ahead of this game.
So, if Xhaka can’t recover in time then Arteta could go with Joginho alongside Partey as the double pivot, starting Martin Odegaard in the number ten position. Fabio Vieira will return to the bench after an underwhelming performance last time out, alongside Emile Smith Rowe.
Gabriel Martinelli has been enjoying brilliant form in recent weeks, so he is guaranteed to keep hold of his place on the left flank and Bukayo Saka should be on the opposite side for the Arsenal attack.
Gabriel Jesus could continue in the number nine role despite a disappointing display last time out. Meaning Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah are expected to feature off the bench if needed.
Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny have been ruled out for the rest of the season due to knee issues. So, they won’t be available for selection tomorrow.
