Arsenal are set to welcome struggling Everton at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

This fixture was initially scheduled to take place back in September but was postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II and now will go on tomorrow.

Following a few poor results over the last few weeks, the Gunners have returned to their best form with wins over Aston Villa and Leicester. They are now at the top of the table with 57 points from 24 games, two points ahead of Manchester City with a game in hand.

Arsenal endured a disappointing 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture against Everton at the Goodison in Sean Dyche’s debut game as the Toffees’ boss. So, Mikel Arteta’s side would be looking to take revenge for that loss tomorrow.

Everton will be coming into this game off the back of a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa. And following that result, they have now dropped down to the relegation zone. The Merseyside club will be desperate to come away with a positive result from this encounter in order to drag themselves out of the bottom three. So the Gunners will have to be at their best in midweek to get all three points.

Expected Arsenal line-up vs Everton

Aaron Ramsdale is guaranteed to keep hold of his place in the Arsenal goal so Matt Turner will find himself on the bench once again.

William Saliba is expected to continue at the back alongside Gabriel Magalhaes and on either side of the centre-backs, Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko should be the fullbacks for Arsenal. Meaning Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney, Jakub Kiwior and Rob Holding will all settle for places on the bench.

Thomas Partey was in doubt for last weekend’s trip to Leicester City but started on the bench and came on for the final few minutes. He could return to the starting eleven tomorrow, replacing Jorginho – who was excellent at Leicester.

Granit Xhaka is likely to continue in the engine room alongside the Ghanaian and Martin Odegaard might start in the number ten role for Arsenal once again. So, Fabio Vieira is set to be among the substitutes.

Bukayo Saka will be on the right flank, while Gabriel Martinelli is expected to be on the opposite side and Leandro Trossard could be the centre-forward for Arsenal after impressing last time out. Meaning Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe would start on the bench against Everton.

Despite stepping up his recovery, Gabriel Jesus is set to remain sidelined with a knee issue along with Mohamed Elneny and Reiss Nelson on Wednesday.
