Mudryk reveals it’d be hard to reject Arsenal in January
Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mychajlo Mudryk has revealed that it would be hard for him to reject Arsenal if the north London club intensify their interest in signing the highly-rated forward in January.
The Gunners were seemingly eyeing a move for a new wide attacker in the summer transfer window, however, despite being linked with a host of players, they failed to sign a new winger before the deadline.
The 21-year-old was reportedly one of the names who were on Mikel Arteta’s radar. However, the Spanish boss’ side didn’t move forward with a proposed deal in the summer.
During an interview with CBS Sports, Mudryk expressed his desire to play in the Premier League and revealed that he ‘can’t say no’ to Arsenal, if the Gunners were to make a move for him in January.
The Ukrainian further states that the north London club are a very good team, they have an excellent coach in Mikel Arteta and play an attractive brand of football.
Mudryk said:
“Yes, yes, every guy dream about Premier League. Arsenal is very good team, very good coach, I like the way they play. From my side I can’t say no [to Arsenal].”
Mudryk to Arsenal
The Shakhtar Donetsk star would be a very good acquisition for Arsenal if they were to make a move for him in January. The youngster showcased glimpses of his qualities in Tuesday’s Champions League fixture against Leipzig, scoring a solitary goal and registering two assists in a 4-1 victory against the Bundesliga side.
Signing the talented forward would be a shrewd purchase for Arteta’s side, given they need to strengthen the flanks. After failing to add more options this summer, signing a new winger in January would be a good decision by the club’s hierarchy and Mudryk would certainly be an excellent choice for Arsenal.
New signing Marquinhos enjoyed a dream debut for the Gunners last evening against FC Zurich in the Europa League, scoring a solitary goal and grabbing an assist in a 2-1 victory. Therefore, the Brazilian has showcased his capabilities to deputise for Bukayo Saka during the Englishman’s absence.
Therefore, signing a new left-winger who can deputise for Gabriel Martinelli could be the best outcome for Arsenal in the winter and Mudryk would be a great addition if he were to join the club.
