Arsenal’s latest signing Takehiro Tomiyasu trained with his new team mates today as the players underwent their final preparations ahead of Saturday’s clash with Norwich City.

Tomiyasu – who is comfortable playing at centre-back or right-back – completed an initial £16m move from Serie A outfit Bologna on deadline day last week before heading off on international duty with Japan.

The defender met his new manager – Mikel Arteta – for the first time on Thursday and footage has now been released showing him training with his new Arsenal team mates at London Colney.

Tomiyasu’s work permit has now been granted so he’s available to make his debut against Norwich at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow afternoon. However, it remains to be seen whether Arteta will throw him straight in to action after just a couple of training sessions.

The likelihood is Arteta will opt to go with Calum Chambers or Cedric Soares at right-back tomorrow while Ben White is expected to line-up alongside Gabriel in the middle of Arsenal’s back four, so Tomiyasu may have to settle for a place on the bench.

There was also positive news on the injury front as Albert Sambi Lokonga was snapped in training today so it looks like he’s available after picking up a minor knock while away with Belgian this week.

Emile Smith Rowe was also among the group that trained at Arsenal’s training base today. The youngster was sent home from duty with the England U21’s due to illness but it appears he’s feeling better and should be available to face Norwich.

Thomas Partey, Ben White and Eddie Nketiah also trained today after being passed fit for the weekend action but Mohamed Elneny has been ruled out for at least two weeks with a thigh injury.
