Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Man Utd: Saka & Tierney ruled out, Partey starts
Arsenal take on Manchester United at the Emirates this evening and we desperately need a win to boost our European qualification hopes.
Bukayo Saka misses out with a minor hip injury which is a huge blow given he’s been Arsenal’s best player in recent weeks. Gabriel Martinelli is recalled to the attack while Nicolas Pepe keeps his place.
Kieran Tierney is also ruled out after failing to prove his fitness so Cedric Soares keeps his place at left-back. Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and David Luiz make-up the defence so it’s the same back four that started against Southampton.
Thomas Partey is passed fit to start in midfield for Arsenal after recovering from a knock while Emile Smith Rowe has also passed a late fitness test. Alexandre Lacazette leads the line up front with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang still missing.
New signing Martin Odegaard is named on the bench so we could see him making his Arsenal debut while Willian and Joe Willock are other options from the subs bench.
These are the teams for the game:
Arsenal
Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Luiz, Cedric, Xhaka, Partey, Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Pepe, Lacazette
Subs: Gabriel, Odegaard, Willian, Runarsson, Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Elneny, Willock, Nketiah
Man Utd
De Gea, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Pogba, Fred, Fernandes, McTominay, Rashford, Cavani
Subs: Bailly, Martial, Greenwood, James, Henderson, Telles, Matic, van de Beek, Tuanzebe
