Arsenal well positioned to land £20m star as Arteta eyes key signing

By on March 29, 2020

Despite the uncertainty around when football will return due to the current coronavirus pandemic, Arsenal are still making plans ahead of the summer and it’s going to be a pivotal transfer window for the club.

Mikel Arteta knows he needs to strengthen throughout his squad as Arsenal are well behind the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City. Looking ahead to the 2020/21 season, Arsenal are priced as sixth-favourites at 51.00 to win the title. Given the state of our squad, I don’t see many fans making that bet – although you could check out signupoffers.codes for some great welcome bonuses to reduce the financial risk.

This is going to be a pivotal summer for Arsenal in the transfer market and a new centre-back needs to be a priority as our defence has been a shambles of much of this season. Luckily, it looks like Arteta is already working on targets as Football London are reporting that Arsenal are eyeing a move for Evan N’Dicka.

The report says we’ve identified the 20-year-old as a cheaper alternative to RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano with Eintracht Frankfurt valuing N’Dicka at around £20m – which should be within Arsenal’s budget this summer.

Napoli and Inter Milan are also keen on the young centre-back but N’Dicka favours a move to the Premier League. The report says Liverpool are showing a strong interest but Arsenal are in pole position as we’ll be able to offer more regular first team football and we already have a good relationship with his agent, Aboubacar Traore – who helped orchestrate Nicolas Pepe’s move to north London last year.

N’Dicka has impressed since breaking into the Frankfurt first team and is tipped to become a senior French international having already represented his country at every youth level from U16 through to U21.

The 6ft 4in defender has a commanding presence and is quick for such a tall player. N’Dicka is also a left-footed centre-back so he could be an excellent partner for William Saliba – who’ll finally arrive at Arsenal this summer after spending the season back on loan at St Etienne.

I expect to see one or two defenders leave the Emirates this summer with the likes of Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis set to depart so N’Dicka is seemingly being lined-up as a replacement and I think he’d be a terrific addition to the squad.

If Arsenal can add a top class central midfielder as well then we’ll have made two key signings which would make us much stronger ahead of next season.
