Confirmed line-ups: Everton vs Arsenal: Smith Rowe starts, Ozil out
Mikel Arteta will be in the stands to watch over his new team as Arsenal take on Everton at Goodison Park at lunchtime.
Arteta was unveiled as Arsenal’s new permanent manager on Friday but he won’t begin the role until tomorrow so Freddie Ljungberg will oversee his final game as interim boss this afternoon.
Mesut Ozil misses out with a foot problem so Emile Smith Rowe starts for Arsenal while Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Martinelli also support Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Gunners attack. Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe have to settle for places on the bench.
Bukayo Saka starts at left-back as Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac are ruled out through injury while David Luiz comes-in alongside Calum Chambers with Sokratis suspended. Ainsley Maitland-Niles starts at right-back in place of the injured Hector Bellerin.
Granit Xhaka returns in midfield with Matteo Guendouzi dropping out as Lucas Torreira keeps his place.
