According to the BBC, Arsenal are aiming to bring in another FOUR new signings once we wrap-up a £27m deal to sign William Saliba from Saint-Etienne.

The report says Arsenal are set to sign Saliba after agreeing a 30m euro (£27m) deal that will include the centre-back being loaned straight back to Saint-Etienne for next season.

The 18-year-old has become one of the most highly-rated centre-backs in French football since breaking into the Ligue 1 outfits first team last season and he’s represented his country at U21 level.

Arsenal reportedly fought off competition from the likes of Tottenham and Wolves to sign the teenager so hopefully he’ll be an exciting long-term addition to Emery’s squad.

However, Saliba won’t be available for the coming season so we still need to improve our defence after shipping 70 in all competitions last year and thankfully the Saliba deal won’t have a major impact on Emery’s £45m budget.

The BBC says we’ll pay Saint-Etienne in several installments so Arsenal will still have funds available to target up to FOUR more signings with Emery still in the market for an established centre-back to come straight in to the first team.

No names are mentioned in the report but it will be interesting to see who Arsenal target as we desperately need a top class central defender to tighten things up at the back next season.

As has been well documented in recent weeks, the BBC confirm Arsenal are also still in talks to sign Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney as Emery looks to bring in an upgrade on Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac.

The BBC also claim the boss is in the market for a central midfielder and a winger so we could have five new signings [including Saliba] on-board over the coming weeks.

Time is running out for us to get deals agreed but it would certainly be an excellent summer if Arsenal could land Gabriel Martinelli, Saliba, Tierney, a centre-back, central midfielder and a winger.

The squad is crying out for additions in all of those positions so we’ll be in good shape if Emery can secure all his targets ahead of the new season. Here’s hoping for a busy few weeks….
