Photos: Aubameyang travels as Arsenal squad flies out to Belarus but no sign of Ozil
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has flown out to Belarus with the rest of the Arsenal squad ahead of our Europa League clash with BATE Borisov but there is no sign of Mesut Ozil.
The Gabon hitman returned to training this morning after overcoming illness which kept him out of the Huddersfield game at the weekend and he’s now been included in the travelling party that flew-out of London this afternoon.
Auba has only featured three times in the Europa League so far but with Arsenal already out of the FA Cup we have no game this weekend so Unai Emery has taken a strong squad with him for the BATE clash.
Granit Xhaka is also in the squad after recovering from a minor groin injury that’s kept him out of the last two games while experienced heads such as Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have also made the trip to Belarus.
Alexandre Lacazette, Matteo Guendouzi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sead Kolasinac Alex Iwobi and Lucas Torreira are also in the travelling squad while January signing Denis Suarez could make his first appearance in Europe for Arsenal.
However, there was no sign of Mesut Ozil on the plane, despite the playmaker taking part in full training having overcome illness, while Sokratis also looks to have been left in North London after only just recovering from an ankle injury.
The only youngster who’s made the trip is Eddie Nketiah while Aaron Ramsey misses out due to a knee injury and is on the sidelines along with Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck.
Here are more photos of the Arsenal squad flying out this afternoon.
