Arsenal confirm double injury blow: Update on Bellerin, Mustafi, Mkhi & Kolasinac

Arsenal have provided a team news update ahead of our Premier League clash with Burnley including the latest on Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Bellerin missed the Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham in midweek after suffering a calf injury against Southampton last Sunday and unfortunately the full-back has been ruled out for another two weeks.
It means Bellerin will miss the busy Christmas and New Year period so Unai Emery is going to have to rely on Stephan Lichtsteiner and Ainsley Maitland-Niles to deputise at right-back.
Mustafi has also been ruled out of tomorrow’s clash with Burnley as he’s still nursing a hamstring injury that’s kept him out in recent games but the centre-back should resume full training next week.
Kolasinac remains a doubt this weekend having missed the last two matches with a thigh injury so he’ll need to be assessed by the medical team before his availability against Burnley can be determined.
Arsenal could also be without Mkhitaryan tomorrow as the attacker is also a fitness doubt after being forced off during the League Cup defeat to Spurs with an ankle problem.
Youngster Emile Smith Rowe remains on the sidelines with a hip injury while Dinos Mavropanos is also still carrying a long-term groin problem, but both players should return to training before the end of the month.
Obviously Rob Holding is still unavailable as he’s unlikely to play again this season after damaging knee ligaments while Danny Welbeck’s season is also over due to a broken ankle.
The team news update on Arsenal.com read:
Sead Kolasinac
Right thigh. Being assessed ahead of Burnley (h) on Saturday, December 22.Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Right ankle. Being assessed ahead of Burnley (h) on Saturday, December 22.Shkodran Mustafi
Right hamstring. Expected to return to full training next week.Hector Bellerin
Left calf. Expected to return to full training in two weeks.Emile Smith Rowe
Right hip. Expected to return to full training in December.Dinos Mavropanos
Groin injury. Expected to return to full training in December.Rob Holding
Left knee. Recovering after surgery.Danny Welbeck
Right ankle. Recovering after surgery.
It’s a big blow to lose Bellerin as it means he’ll miss the upcoming games against Burnley, Brighton, Liverpool and Fulham while he’ll also be a doubt for the FA Cup 3rd round clash with Blackpool in early January.
