3-4-1-2: Ozil starts, no Ramsey | Arsenal’s best line-up to take on Huddersfield

Arsenal can go third in the Premier League table by beating Huddersfield Town at the Emirates tomorrow afternoon. This is the line-up I’d like Unai Emery to select…
Goalkeeper: Leno
Leno should probably have done better with the second United goal but there seemed to be a breakdown in communication with Kolasinac. I think he’s been excellent overall since replacing Cech so I’d stick with Leno tomorrow.
Defence: Mustafi, Sokratis, Lichtsteiner
Arsenal’s options in defence have taken a hit as Holding has been ruled out for up to nine months with a cruciate knee ligament injury which is a huge blow for him and Arsenal. It leaves Emery with a decision to make tomorrow and the most likely solution is Lichtsteiner.
Monreal has been in full training this week but it might be a risk to throw him straight back in to action after two months out while Koscielny has been pencilled in to make his comeback against Qarabag next week. Therefore, I’d go with Lichtsteiner alongside Sokratis and Mustafi in the back three against Huddersfield.
Midfield: Bellerin, Torreira, Xhaka, Kolasinac
Bellerin and Kolasinac should obviously retain their places in the wing-back positions while Torreira is set for another run out in midfield after another all-action display for Arsenal against United. All three players could do with a rest but they’ll get one against Qarabag on Thursday.
Guendouzi did alright at Old Trafford and no doubt he’s going to be a future star but I though we missed Xhaka in midweek so he should be recalled after serving his suspension.
Attack: Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette
Ramsey is expected to be ruled out after picking up an ankle injury against Man Utd so this could open the door for Ozil to be recalled. The German playmaker has missed the last three games with a ‘back injury’ but it seems obvious he’s been involved in some sort of bust-up with Arsenal boss Emery.
The boss clearly has reservations about Ozil’s work rate in the big games and tough away matches but we can’t keep him frozen out forever and a home game against Huddersfield seems like a good opportunity to integrate him back in to the side.
I though we looked excellent against Tottenham in the second half when we had Aubameyang and Lacazette up front together with Ramsey just behind so this would be my favoured formation in certain games.
Ozil is ideally suited to playing in the hole behind two strikers and if his attitude is right, he’d have a lot of joy feeding Auba and Laca so I hope we see that front three against Huddersfield.
That would leave Mkhitaryan and Iwobi as options from the bench along with Nketiah. Obviously Welbeck is still out with a broken ankle.
Here is the side I hope we’ll see:
That would be my line-up and I think we’d batter Huddersfield if we line-up like that but in reality I don’t see Emery recalling Ozil just yet. He might be on the bench tomorrow but it’s likely Iwobi or Miki will start in attack. Either way, let’s hope for three points for The Arsenal….
