[Player Ratings & Goals] Vorskla 0-3 Arsenal: Smith Rowe excellent, Elneny sloppy

By on November 29, 2018

The youngsters impressed as Arsenal beat FC Vorskla 3-0 in Kiev to secure progression to the knockout stages of the Europa League as Group E winners.

Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring with his third goal in just five starts before Aaron Ramsey converted from the spot to make it 2-0 after being brought down in the area midway through the first half.

Joe Willock then slotted home a wonderful effort in to the bottom corner from the edge of the box to make it 3-0 and wrap-up a comfortable win that ensures we’ll finish top of the group.

Here are my ratings:

Cech  6/10 | Very little to do other than to make one fine save in the second half.

Lichtsteiner  7/10 | Rarely in any danger at the back and supported the attack down the right when needed.

Holding  7/10 | Another solid performance and was good in the air. Taken off in the second half to save him for Tottenham.

Jenkinson  7/10 | Fair play to the lad, he didn’t put a foot wrong in the middle of defence. Always gives his best for the shirt.

Maitland-Niles  7/10 | Shame he wasn’t given a chance in midfield but caused a lot of problems down the left flank.

Elneny  6/10 | Won possession to assist the third goal but was sloppy at other times and it would have cost us against better opposition.

Guendouzi  7.5/10 | Another fine performance. Dictated play and bossed the midfield.

Willock  8/10 | A wonderful finish from the edge of the area made it 3-0. Great on the ball. Full of confidence this season.

Ramsey  7/10 | Won the penalty and converted it to make it 2-0. He’s far too good for this level of football so it was sad to see him playing for the reserves/kids.

Smith Rowe  8.5/10 | Another goal for the youngster and had another harshly ruled out for offside. Superb technique on the ball and great dribbler. An excellent all-round performance.

Nketiah  7.5/10 | Played a key role in the opening goal and was always keen to get involved but fluffed his big chance to score.

Subs:

Medley  7/10 | An encouraging debut from the teenager. Looked comfortable on the ball.

Saka   6.5/10 | Highly rated at the club and looks a real live-wire.

Gilmour   N/A | Only on for a few minutes but nice to see him making his debut.
