[Video Goals] Boreham Wood 0-8 Arsenal: Aubameyang Scores Hat-Trick As Gunners Run Riot
Unai Emery kicked off his career at Arsenal with a resounding 8-0 friendly victory over Boreham Wood at Meadow Park this afternoon.
Our new boss named a side mixed with experienced pro’s and youngsters for the game and it was our big-money signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who opened the scoring with a super effort in the 7th minute.
The Gabon international made it 2-0 shortly after with a close range header following good work from Ainsley Maitland-Niles before completing a ten minute hat-trick from the penalty spot.
Reiss Nelson then got in on the act to make it 4-0 with a lovely volley before Alexandre Lacazette slotted home our fifth shortly before half-time.
Emery made wholesale changes at the break but it didn’t disrupt Arsenal too much as Eddie Nketiah made it 6-0 in the 53rd minute before Reine-Adelaide fired home from 2-0 yards to make it 7-0.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan completed the rout as he fired home in the 79th minute to make it 8-0 and ensure Emery’s era got off to the perfect start against Boreham Wood.
