[Photos] Arsenal trio return to full training ahead of Atletico Madrid clash
Arsenal were handed a timely triple injury boost today after Jack Wilshere, Mesut Ozil and Petr Cech all returned to full training ahead of our Europa League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid.
Wilshere has missed our last two Premier League games against Newcastle and West Ham after picking up an ankle injury against CSKA Moscow two weeks ago.
Ozil was also left out of the squad for the 4-1 victory over the Hammers on Sunday afternoon due to a supposed sickness bug while Cech didn’t feature because of a minor hip injury.
However, all three players returned to full training today and are expected to start on Thursday night when we welcome Atletico to the Emirates for our Europa League semi-final first leg.
David Ospina has been our regular keeper in Europe this season but Cech is expected to take the gloves now that the Europa League is our priority over the Premier League.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan once again trained away from the rest of the first team squad today as he continues to recover from a knee injury while Mohamed Elneny is unlikely to play again this season due to ankle ligament damage.
