2 new signings included in Arsenal’s Premier League squad list but Spaniard left out
The summer transfer window is now closed so Arsenal have confirmed their official squad list for the 2017-18 Premier League season.
Obviously our club-record summer signing Alexandre Lacazette has been included in the squad after the French international striker completed his big-money move from Lyon.
Sead Kolasinac is also included in the 25-man squad after the Bosnian international full-back joined the club on a free transfer from Schalke back in June.
Jack Wilshere makes the cut and will be looking to resurrect his Arsenal career while Mathieu Debuchy is also named in the squad after failing to secure a move away from the club this summer.
However, Santi Cazorla has NOT been named in the squad by Arsene Wenger meaning the Spanish midfielder won’t be eligible to play in the Premier League until the New Year.
Cazorla is still working his way back to full fitness after missing over 10 months with a troublesome Achilles injury. I had hoped he would be fit over the coming months but it looks like he’s still a long way off being ready for the first team.
Arsenal submitted their squad which contained no more than 17 players who are not classified as ‘Home Grown’ while we can name as many U21 players as we want.
